You may be accurate but are you also efficient?

Today's lesson talked about modifying equations so that they can be solved more efficiently (that means faster). Be sure you can explain the difference between an LCD and an LCM.

Today's assignment:

1. Finish reading Lesson 5-8 and complete Covering the Reading.
2. Decide whether or not you need Lesson Masters to study for the quiz on Lessons 5-3 through 5-6 (Thursday).
3. Start thinking about which day next week you want to take the Chapter 5 test.

Hello Mrs. Burke!
An LCD is the lowest common factor between two fractions, and when adding or subtracting two fractions, you need to find the LCD in order to add or subtract the fractions. An LCM is the lowest common multiple between two fractions, and the LCM is used when multyplying through when clearing fractions in an inequality.
I think Tuesday would be a good day for the test, but the class may have a different opinion.
See you tomorrow!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
Depending on my progress in 5-8, I might need to see you after school sometime this week or the next.
Thank you!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
About the chapter test, we have a chapter test in science on Monday, so can we choose a "not-Monday" day to have the test please? Thank you!
