My first puzzle that I made up is really simple. It goes: pick a number, double it, add thirteen, subtract three, divide by two, and then subtract ten.

The "Eight is Great" puzzle only required me to change one step from the "Seven is Heaven" puzzle. It goes: pick a number, add one, multiply by two, multiply by three, subtract four, add six, then subtract six times your original number.

My first puzzle was, Pick a number, add 2, subtract 6, times everything by two (for instance use the Distributive property. 2n+-8)Add 16, Subtract 8, Divide by 2. You should get the same number you started with.

My "Eight is Great" puzzle was, Pick a number, add 8, add 8 again, subtract 9, add 1, subtract the number you originaly chose. You should always get 8.

Why talk about your puzzles? Just post it in the comments below

Sorry for being so late. I completely forgot.

Should we enter the 'what we say' column if we can?

hey what sections is the math quiz on?

I would put down information in "what we say" if you can. Then, when we go over it in class, you can compare your answer with the one we got in class, and if you have to, change it.

I am having a lo of trouble with the addition property of equality, subtraction property of equality, multiplication property of equality. The algebraic definition is so obvious, but I can not figure how to use them with fact triangles.

To find the reciprpcal of a fraction you swith the denominator and numerator right?

zidanesoccer said...

sorry for the typoes

Man United said...

To find the reciprical its just 1 over that number. For example if it asked you to find the reciprical of 8. It would just be 1/8.

That's not true tyler. What would be the reciprocal of 4/7 then? It can't be 1/4/7. Seby you were right. You switch the numerator and the denominator. It is the same for any integer. 8 is also written as 8/1. So the reciprocal is 1/8.
