Question 11:
Pick a number: b
Subtract 11: b-11
Multiply by 3: (b-11)3= 3b-33
Add 5 times original number: 3b+-33+5b= 8b+-33
Add 1: 8b+-33+1= 8b+32
Divide by 4: (8b+32)/4= 2b+8
Divide by 2: (2b+8)/2=b+8
Subtract 8: b+8-8= b
You will always end with the original number.

Question 12:
Pick a number: y
Add 1: y+1
Multiply by 2: (y+1)2= 2y+2
Multiply by 3: (2y+2)3= 6y+6
Subtract 6: 6y+6-6= 6y
Divide by original number: (6y)/y=6
Add 2: 6+2=8
The answer will always be 8.

Question 11.

Start with any number: n
Add 14: n+14
Divide by 2: 0.5(n+14)=0.5n+7
Subtarct 2: 0.5+7-2=0.5n+5
Multiply by 10: 10(0.5n+5)=5n+50
Add-15: 5n+50+-15=5n+35
Subtract 35: 5n+35-35=5n+0
Divide by five: 5n/5 = 1n = n

Question 12.

Start with a number: x
Multiply by five: 5x
Add 32: 5x+32
Multiply by 2: 2(5x+32)=10x+64
Add one: 10x+64+1=10x+65
Divide by 5: 5/(10x+65)=2x+13
Subtract 5: 2x+13-5=2x+8
Subtract twice your

My first puzzle is: Pick a number, double it, add 6, multiply by 4, subtract 24, and divide by 8.

My "Eight is Great" puzzle is: Pick a number, add 1, multiply by 2, multiply by 3, subtract 4, add 5, subtract 6 times your original number, and add 1.

Hey, Iwas just looking now to see if a missed any of the homework and I realized that I had put the number puzzles in the wrong place. I am so sorry, I was in a rush on Thursday. I will comment them here even though it is late.

My first puzzle that I made up is really simple. It goes: pick a number, double it, add thirteen, subtract three, divide by two, and then subtract ten.

The "Eight is Great" puzzle only required me to change one step from the "Seven is Heaven" puzzle. It goes: pick a number, add one, multiply by two, multiply by three, subtract four, add six, then subtract six times your original number.
