Did you hear?

I just heard on Channel 4 that Montgomery County schools are closed tomorrow. You can check the MCPS website also.

Here's your assignment: You need to finish Lesson 6-2. This is really important because I do not want you to get behind. I expect all of you to complete a full algebra course by the end off the year and that requires consistent, hard work.

Have fun and enjoy sleeping in again!

A big reminder! There are a few of you out there who need to start commenting on algebra on this blog.

Hi Mrs. Burke!
I was enjoying my snow day today (sledding...no,I was slipping, on the ice!).
I'm so excited for this extra long weekend! :)
If a sentence read "4x squared" would the squared count for only the x or also the 4? So, would it be (4x) squared or 4(x squared)? Or would they be equal?
See you on MONDAY!!!!!! :) :) :)

4x^2 means only the x is squared. If both the 4 and the x were squared, it would be written (4x)^2. Hope this helps and I'm glad you are thinking about algebra. See you on Tuesday; Monday is a holiday!!

Thanks, Mrs. Burke! Oh yeah, Monday is a holiday!!! :)
I was confused about why the numerator in a fraction can't be 0. I just didn't read that on page 359 they said that the numerator CAN = 0 but I thought it said can't! That's confused me!
Have a great lonng weekend!

Good thing I checked the blog. I didn't think there would be homework.

A numerator of a fraction can be equal to 0; otherwise there would be no 0 in the set of rational numbers. The denominator cannot equal 0. Check both of these on your calculator.

Hi Mrs. Burke,
I was just reviewing for the math test and a question came up:
If in a problem they ask you to graph something by a certain window, should you assume that they x and y scales are equal to 1?
See you tomorrow! (although another snwo day would be nice...) ;)

Dear Mrs. Burke: I just got back from Arizona today. Unfortunatly I missed the snow. :(
I just read the blog for the lesson 6-2 assignment, since I was in AZ from thursday till 4:30 today. I will try to complete this lesson but I may not be able to for tomorrow.
