I had a little trouble with 12 and 13 on the lesson masters. I talked with Ms. Hogan and she helped me. If anyone is having trouble here are some tips: reread the problem and circle what value you are trying to solve for, then list all the values that you know on a sheet of paper. Try to find relationships between the numbers to organize them in a way that solves the problem.
The key for me was listing everything on the paper so I could get everything straight in my head.
I hope this helps.

I'm having a little trouble with solving inequalities when the symbol is > or <. In the examples, they used the "or equal to" symbols. Pretend << is less than or equal to and >> is greater than or equal to (the computer doesn't have those symbols). They had
7x<<126. Then the solved it: x<<18. They checked by substituting 18 for x:
7(18)<<126
126=126. So it was correct.

Let's say you have 6x>48
First you solve:
6x>48
6x/6>48/6
x>8
Then check by substituting 8 for x:
6x>48
6(8)>48
48>48. That doesn't make any sense since 48=48. So, what do you do for solving inequalities with < or >? Am I missing something here?

sarahahaha, you are missing the second step in checking solutions to inequalities.
