I Found a Great Job!
If we had flex tomorrow, I would show you this video. It is very short but I was fascinated. Since it's playoff time and there are a variety of baseball/softball fanatics among you, I think you all, even the nonfanatics, need to watch this video.

How does it relate to math class? Listen to the language.
Have a great weekend. Sorry I missed you in math.

Woah that was funky!
Throughout the video you could hear them using rates (90 miles per hour, etc). Also, the test lab technician was talking about how they look for the maximum speed in the data to find the sweet spot. He was also talking about the width in inches of finding the sweet spot. I think I also heard him saying something about a 33 degree angle (i think!). They were also talking about variables, however I don't think they were reffering to x and y.
Haha that was a cool video
I was super surprised about how many math terms they used in it. O and sarahahaha when they were talking about variables i think they were just talking about things that can change depending on whats going on, such as how fast the ball is going ect.....
O and you guys what is the homework today???????? I think wuhu gal or whatever is saposed to post it but she hasn't yet!!!!!! Please tell me what it is!
Ya, what is the homework! I don't know about you guys but i like to do stuff after school not just wait for someone to post the homework...
who is posting the home work tonight?
Oh by the way cbcgaga3 and the smartest kid you know, I left your homework in the office for you guys.
I forgot to write the homework in my assignment book, sorry =[. It wasn't my day to post though. I don't think any of the homework is due tomorrow though. It half day tag day (bring in 50 cents!) and WAYS, so the only homework due is social studies.
Actually we have science due tomorrow too. The math HW is 2.4 1-16, pg 63 1-6 on the worksheet,2.3 22-30 read 2.4, and do the be witched worksheet. It's not my day but I found it in assignment book. (btw I was very happy to see the guy wearing a yankees helmet). everything is due monday except bewitched which is due tuesday.
Oh and Sarahahaha thanks but i forgot to get it today i got back from HOly Child at 4 and then my mom left immedietly)how on earth do you spell that????????) so i couldn't pick it up I'll get it tommrow i guess. O and all the girls from last year told me to tell you Mrs. Burke that they like math this year and feel really prepared for it. and i totally understood the class i sat in on
Thanks ianny for the homework.
That was a very interesting video. I did not know that that much math and science was involved in creating baseball bats.
This is an awesome video for me because not only do I actually play baseball, but I use an Easton Stealth Composite bat which is the one they were testing in the beginning so that was cool for me to see how they test the sweet spot. Its a great feeling to hit it on the sweet spot and it goes a long way. Trust me I would know. (4 homeruns in Cooperstown)
Interesting video. I was surprised to learn that different kinds of bats can produce different speeds when hitting the ball. Also, I learned how to find the sweet spot on a bat.
But the video didn't really tell you exactly how to find the sweet spot. It just gave you an approximation of where the sweet spot will be and they said it felt good to hit the ball there,(and tommy added to that....) Or did i miss them saying how to find it?
cbcgaga3,
Did you watch when the test lab technician was settin gthe bat in different positions to hit the ball? They were taking the data from that and finding the maximum speed of the ball and findingthe sweet spot. Hope this helped.
Hey, I am not sure who is supposed to post the homework, so I am going to ask my homework question here. How do we prove the b witched number puzzel since it does not work for all numbers? Can it be proved?
Is the bewitched number problem due on tuesday or monday?
wel, It's due on tuesday. Can somebody help me with 2.4 # 15? why is it not zero?
GoFigure,
I think you can just write, where you would usually put n (step 1),n when n is a number with less than 8 digits. However, I tried it with a couple numbers with more than 8 digits, and the puzzle worked.
haha tommy
looks like a job for Ms. Hogan
haha rixey, it does look like a job for her =]
