On the quiz yesterday, I was solving #1 and the question asked if it appearred to be a line. It does appear to be a line, but when I looked at all the values from 0 to whatever positive number, Y always equalled zero. So it may appear to be a line, but it is not linear. Would that fit for the answer?

putrickm,

Hey I think it would fit the answer for the question. Maybe I should have looked at the table before I finished the problem. You could have also used the bouncing ball or my favorite, the bold line, and you could have found that it wasnt not as it appeared. Next time we have a problem like that I am definately going to second guess myself and check so something like that doesn't happen again.

See YA Monday!!!!

mrs burke, I was just taking the practice ssat test and wanted to know what the definition of a rational number is

Mrs. Burke said...

sjb, a rational number is defined as a number that can be written as a/b where a and b are integers and b does not equal 0. If a number cannot be written as a simple fraction, then the number is not rational.
