Distributive Property of Multiplication over Addition/Subtraction

You need to practice this property because you will use it over and over. Ask NJM.

Homework:

Lesson 2-1, Covering the Ideas and Review. You should be able to knock off #17 in under three minutes. Comment on this!

Hey Mrs.Burke I was just wondering if you could post the HW on the blog. Actually, if you are there after school today I'm coming back for the Greece and Rome meeting so I could talk with you. Don't worry about this post being in the middle of the school day, I'm in Spanish class and the teacher said that because I didn't speak Spanish I could do anything on my shadow's laptop. I'm having a great time here and I hope I didn't miss to many explainations in class today. Do you remeber Lindy? I saw her today.

See you soon,

#17 took me about two-three minutes to finish. The distributive property is getting much easier thanks to your teaching Mrs. Burke.

P.S.~ I left early on Friday so I couldn't finish the second part of the test. Would it be ok if I finish it during Lunch?

Hi Mrs. Burke!!!
Guess what? I'm visiting Woods tomorrow morning because tomorrow's a blue day at Holy Cross (meaning school starts at 8:50).
If you have time, don't forget the cookies!! :) :)
See you tomorrow!!!!!

Dear O'Reilly,

I actually don't have my book with me so I will have to try my best to help you. I think this is the question where it is like "factor 5 out of 15x...40y...." , something like that. So, you divide the coefficient by the number you are factoring out. Ex. 15/5 and 40/5. Then, just replace the original number (15x and 40y) with the new answers (3x and 8y).

I hope i helped!
