Do not just memorize the quadratic formula...

You need to now how to apply it because you will use this formula repeatedly. You need to understand when to use the discriminant as well. If you would like another source to read, try this.

Due on Thursday:

1. Lesson 9-6 on discriminants. You should be able to complete all of it!
2. Quiz either Thursday or Friday on Lessons 9-1 through 9-4. Comment on which day you prefer to have this quiz. Majority will rule on this!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
Mrs. Swanda told us that we will be having play practice all day Thursday as well as all day Wednesday. Because of this, I vote Friday for the quiz, but I'm not exactly crystal clear about the schedule right now.
I think that knowing discriminants make quadratics a lot easier. Besides, they are not that hard for me, so I like them! :)
See you tomorrow,
KES

Hi Mrs. Burke,
Either day works for me for the quiz. Well, actually I would prefer Friday so we can have a little less homework for tomorrow.
Discriminants are a little confusing, though they do help.
See you Thursday?
