Big Test Tomorrow!
Remember...if your grade is A (90 or greater) after tomorrow's test, you do not have to take any more quizzes or the Chapter 9 test. The test will not take the entire period, i.e. 1.5 hours.
Due tomorrow:
Lesson 9-2, Covering the Reading and Review. Have you tried keying the equations into your calculator to see how adding in a linear term, i.e. bx, affects the parabola? Think about using the terms, line of symmetry and vertex, in your description.

Hi Mrs. Burke,
I am a little confused about the difference between the AXIS of symmetry and the LINE of symmetry. Is the AXIS an example of a line? I like quadratics and parabolas; so far they are fun! See you tomorrow!
KES
Yes, I have tried adding and subtracting to the y=bx equation.
KES
KES, axis of symmetry and line of symmetry have the same meaning for parabolas. What did you discover about the parabolas after you added/subtracted the bx term?
Hi Mrs. Burke,
I was wondering, in 9.2, may we skip the BASIC math problems?
I also have the same question as KES.
See you tomorrow!
AMS
Yes, AMS, you and everyone else can skip the BASIC problems. HAve you finished studying Chapter 8?
Good luck tomorrow all you bloggers. I am baking something chocolate and must finish up now.
Hello Mrs. Burke
I was trying some parabola equations on my calcualator but some of them didnt work. It was probably my fault but ill check with you tomorrow anyway. Goodnight!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
Yes, I did study Chapter 8, but there isn't a lot to study. Once you understand the properties, the chapter is very easy!
Thank you Mrs. Burke! I will promise to come with an empty stomach tomorrow as long as that chocolate something doesn't include anything with the word "nut" in it. :)
See you tomorrow!
AMS
When I subtracted a positive number after the bx term, the parabola moved further down on the y-axis. When I subtracted a negative (added) the parabola moved further up on the y-axis.
Sorry I sisn't answer your question last night!
KES
Hi Mrs. Burke,
thanks for the chocolate pizza! It was really yummy! :)
I hope I did well on the test. I don't want to have to take any more tests that aren't the finaly exam! ;)
See you tomorrow!
