Similar Triangles
You will revisit the topic of similar triangles and other polygons when you take Geometry in high school. The approach may be more formal, i.e. you will learn a few theorems about similar triangles. Trigonometry also requires understanding the properties of similar triangles. Remember the trig ratios... sine, cosine and tangent?
Due Monday:
Chapter 6 Progress Self-Test. You will have a long morning math class as well as math after lunch. Have your questions ready on Monday morning! Good luck with your science projects.

The means extreme multipication property has a strang name and it reminds me of cross multiplying a my last school.

AF's comment makes me nervous because many kids mix up cross multiplication with multiplication/division of fractions. The term cross multiplication implies using the means-extremes property.

I never learned about the term "cross multiplying" but if it means the means extremes property, then I understand what it is, Maybe I know how to do it, but just don't know the name.

I was going over the lesson master you gave me and a question came up. For numbers 11 and 12 for lesson 6-7, the problem is as follows:
In 11 and 12, consider 2 figures, Figure 1 and Figure 2. Figure 1 is the image of a triangle under a size change "first k." Figure 2 is the image of the same triangle under a size chnange "second k." Tell how the images are different if
11. "first k"=6 and "second k"=2.
12. "first k"=3 and "second k"=-3.
Do they mean whether the images are different from each other or from the preimage?
If somebody knows the anser to this question, PLEASE comment telling me what they mean! Thank you!
