Santa's Coming....

It was nice to finish up that test today. I expect you all to know how to solve inequalities on Thursday. You should be able to tell me how solving inequalities is similar to and different from solving equations.

I just received the results from the AMC 8 test that you took on November 14. Dylen came in first in the school and also made the honor roll. KES came in third in the school and second in Grade 8. AlexG came in second in the school. C_LUC, person 52, and weisej came in third in Grade 8.

Due Thursday, 12/7/06

Hey Mrs. Burke!
I guess I didn't place on the AMC Math test, oh well, maybe I just wasn't a very good guesser. Do you have everyone's individual score? Or did they just say who scored highest? Anyway, I've been thinking about the math test we took on Tuesday. Please tell us how we did. I really want to know!
See you tomorrow!

Hello Mrs. Burke. I am glad that I placed on the AMC. Is there some sort of property that says something like "Dividing a real number P by a real number A is the same as multipling a real number P by the recriprocal of real number A?"

wiesej said...

Yes, I think that person52 is correct. Because P/A=P*(1/A), if that makes sense.
Here is an example:
6=5a
(1/5)6=5a*(1/5)
6/5=a

This example is just reversed.
I hope that makes sense!
See you tomorrow, Mrs. Burke!

P.S.: what was it that you wanted to talk to me about my comments?
