Patterns

Writing formulas to describe patterns is an important skill necessary for success in algebra. Tomorrow night's homework will allow you to think through a variety of patterns. You can also go the 7-8 math page and check my downloads for another look at patterns.

Hi Mrs. Burke,
I did all of 3-8 this morning and started 3-9 because I didn't know whether you would start it.
See you tomorrow!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
I looked at the web site link and on the slide show, there were some things that were a little confusing. For example, for a linear equation, the equation was similar to C=6I+1. The 1 was labeled as the change. I didn't understand that.

Does the last column on the table for spokes and snowflakes in the beginning of 3.8 reflect recursive or explicit thinking. I know that the last column contains a formula, but is the formula categorized under recursive or explicit? See you tomorrow!

Is the second salad question like the problems we did where 99!=99*98!? What kind of thinking is this again?

Hi Mrs. Burke,
I don't understand the computer part of lesson 3-7. Also, can I meet with you about the Distributive Property. I don't really know how to fully simpflify when there isn't an equal sign. Did we do well on our quizzes? See you tommorrow(thursday)!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
I thought that the math HSPT part was pretty easy. I didn't get all of the pattern questions, but the rest wasn't too hard!
I hope we did well on the quizzes!!!!
See you tomorrow!

Hi Mrs. Burke,
We don't have to answer any questions with the BASIC concepts, or where we have to design our own computer system, do we?
See you tomorrow!
