The activity that we worked on in class today helps build the foundation to understanding an important use of variables. You all had some good ideas today but you need to be able to clearly explain the patterns that you observed. Algebra is the language by which patterns are described. Looking at instances to determine if a pattern is present AND being able to describe the pattern is important. You will be using variables to describe patterns and you may find that easier than trying to describe a pattern using English.

Today's Assignments:
1. Email me your response to question 3c on the activity sheet.
2. Finish filling out the Activity sheet. We will review your answers tomorrow.
3. Read Lesson 1-7 and complete Covering the Reading and Review.

Hi Mrs. Burke.
Today was a good class: it was fun. I enjoy figuring things out on my own, it makes me feel smart :).
